CleanUpNews.org is all about cleanups

The Volunteer Journalist / Writer is the voice of CleanUp News. This person will be the energy source for the cleanup community and will interact and develop relationships with our audience for cleanupnews.org We are looking for someone who has a passion for writing, content creation, and social media. The Journalist / Writer will be a key player in making CleanUp News one of the most effective and innovative public service news projects in the country. He/She must be a self-starter with a high level of organization and self-accountability.

You will be at the forefront of developing video, web, and/or print communications to effectively communicate news about cleanups. The position will further develop CleanUp News as the global leader in communicating news, editorials, video and media about the field. Us:

CleanUp News is a major, new initiative of National CleanUp Day / Clean Trails. We are a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization and community of people dedicated to keeping the outdoors clean. Study after study shows the highest indicator that someone will pick up litter is if they witness someone else picking up litter. That’s because peer group norms are more powerful than incentives, and when worked in concert with each other, they can provide impressive behavioral change impacts.

Core to our beliefs is the notion that people want to do the right things; all they need is a little encouragement or incentive. We believe that people are naturally responsible; if we encourage them to care for their favorite places, to pick up after themselves and others, then our communities will become self-sufficient, clean, and more enjoyable.

What would happen if everyone picked up one piece of litter for National CleanUp Day?

You understand how to write and communicate. You have ideas and know how to execute and produce the highest level content. You cross each t and dot each i - even when there isn't any time for it.
