Background

  • Heads Up for Harry is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and advocating for mental health awareness and resources among adolescents, young adults, and their community of support
  • The organization was established in Atlanta, GA in 2018. Over the last three years, Heads up for Harry has served in the capacity of coordinating and leading over a dozen speaking engagements at local high schools. The purpose of these engagements has been to engage with students on the topics of mental health, mental illness, warning signs, and how to encourage conversations around these matters.
  • In 2020, Heads up for Harry began a new strategic planning initiative. Coming out of these planning sessions, the organization is looking to continue to expand, take shape, and mature as a nonprofit entity in the local community. The driving 5 year vision of Heads up for Harry is for growth in impact, so fewer students are dying from suicide, by expanding awareness work into public schools and colleges, and linking those in need to appropriate mental health resources. Co-creating programs with students and partnering with others to deliver programs and measure outcomes and impact.
