The Alzheimer's Association(r) is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research.

Our Vision: A world without Alzheimer's and all other dementias.

Our Mission: The Alzheimer's Association leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia - by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.

We are looking for passionate committee members for The Longest Day (TLD), our annual "do-it-yourself" fundraising program! Help us fight the darkness of Alzheimer's and all other dementias by doing something you love and turning it into a fundraiser!

The volunteer's role for TLD includes all or some of the following: attending monthly committee meetings (currently virtual), brainstorming fundraising ideas, making phone calls to participants, writing thank you cards, starting your own fundraiser, reaching out to your network and making connections, assisting with marketing of events, and sharing the TLD social media pages with your networks. Your Alzheimer's Association staff partner will support you throughout the program and is happy to tailor your volunteer experience around your interests and schedule.

Ideal volunteers would have some of these traits: Enjoy connecting with people, passionate about ending Alzheimer's, enthusiastic, creative, strong network on Long Island, comfortable talking on the phone and a willingness to participate in or co-host events.

Monthly commitment: Approximately 3-4 hours per month. This will vary depending on the month, and as mentioned above, our staff partner is very flexible with what works for you. Volunteering is ongoing through August 2023
