Inspire a Student! Be the Change! Become a Career Coach Mentor!

Path to College helps driven students from struggling communities go to top tier universities, debt-free. We believe no bright and motivated student should lower their academic ambitions because of lack of funds or guidance. We surround them in community support and remove all barriers to their success. We leverage their minds, ignite their potential, and watch them skyrocket.

Our program is an elite academic fellowship that stands upon the pillars of our three core values: ENRICH, ACHIEVE, and SERVE. The mentoring relationship is the foundation that all of our work stands upon. We could not help our students launch without the heartfelt commitment from our incredible mentors!.

S I G N U P at pathtocollege.org/mentor

Our ideal mentor is a local, experienced, and committed professional who wants to help a motivated, low-income student enrich their academic growth and achieve their goals. The most effective mentors serve as a positive role model and friend, and take the lead in building a relationship grounded in mutual respect, goal-setting, and self-esteem building. Desirable qualities include being a willing listener who is patient, supportive, encouraging and tolerant of diversity.

We're eager to get to know you and tell you all about our journey mentoring with our incredibly bright student fellowship!

About PATH TO COLLEGE FOUNDATION INC

Location:

PO BOX 487, Lake Worth, FL 33460, US

Mission Statement

Path to College has taken on the mission of securing the acceptance of low-income, high-achieving students into top-tier universities, because we believe no intelligent and motivated student should lower their academic ambitions because of lack of funds or guidance.

Description

Our program is an elite academic fellowship that stands upon the pillars of our three core values: ENRICH, ACHIEVE, and SERVE.

We ENRICH our students' academic growth by providing them with once-in-a-lifetime career exploration opportunities. They meet with community leaders, learn about the issues facing their community, attend field trips, and participate in workshops to give them practical skills and interdisciplinary experience.

We help our students ACHIEVE by matching them with a committed mentor who works with them one-on-one to complete the college application process. We also provide SAT tutoring after school as part of our fellowship. Our goal is to help each one of our fellows receive full-scholarship offers to the selective universities of their dreams.

Lastly, we encourage them to take what they learn and find a way to SERVE their community. With the core belief that in order to be a happy and fulfilled individual you must give back, we ask our students to take what they have learned and organize and implement a philanthropic project that seeks to address one of the community challenges they have been exposed to, thereby giving them leadership experience and instilling them with a sense of civic duty.
