Bomb Techs Without Borders is looking for a Social Media Manager volunteer to maintain activity and engage our public on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Google, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. You will be responsible for creating original text and video content, managing posts and responding to followers. You will manage our organization image in a cohesive way to achieve our goals.
As a Social Media Manager, we expect you to be up to date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to express our company’s views creatively. Ultimately, you should be able to manage our social media presence ensuring high levels of web traffic and follower engagement.
Responsibilities include:
Reply to incoming messages frequently
Check alerts for @ mentions and respond as needed
Monitor for untagged mentions and related keywords and respond as needed
Check current trending topics for language to include and avoid
Schedule posts according to effective times of day on Twitter, FB, IG, LinkedIn
Review projects for upcoming posts
Monitor similar organization platforms for ideas, responses, trends
Engage with active followers and fans
Connect with influencers in the space
Check analytics and adjust scheduling and topics as needed
Create and monitor goals for engagement, consistency and growth
Strategize with colleagues
Check analytics for paid ads and adjust as needed
Check analytics for all platforms and consider needed adjustments to scheduling, topics
Consider strategy changes for paid and organic audiences
Attend meetings as necessary
Qualifications
At least 1-2 years of experience in social media
Be highly organized, motivated, and curious, and able to juggle - and prioritize - multiple projects simultaneously
Knowledge and experience using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, other Social Networks and emerging social platforms, and social analytics tools
Passion for digging beneath the surface of social media posts
Have a solid grasp of - and commitment to - our mission and vision
Demonstrate a collaborative spirit and ability to thrive in a start-up environment
