Girl Now Woman Later Inc. is seeking a licensed CPA interested in volunteering for our nonprofit education-focused start-up. Financial management is a key element for any business, and nonprofits are held to a higher standard of financial transparency and accountability. As a CPA volunteer, you would act as the go-to person for advice and will be joining a team of vibrant individuals working to make literacy achievable for English learning students in Georgia and middle school girls and high school girls in Burkina Faso. Your work will help us build and organize our financial foundation.

Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes for the organization.

Prepare journal entries.

Manage bank reconciliations.

Prepare annual financial reports.

Manage & reconcile petty cash.

Prepare and file federal (Form 990-EZ) and state taxes.

Find new ways to organize files and data.

Improve existing and create new processes.

The mission of Girl Now, Woman Later, Inc. is to promote literacy awareness in Cobb county, Georgia among English as a second language (ESL) students as well as to increase the literacy rate and graduation rate especially among females from middle school and high school in Burkina Faso."

Description

We plan to educate, empower, and lead underprivileged middle school students and high school students in underserved areas of Burkina Faso at no charge by providing them access to academic tutors as well as instructors/tutors for vocational skills. In Georgia, we plan to promote literacy awareness for students by providing access to online reading programs, online libraries, books, and have author visits to further enrich literacy education.
