Homeless Children living in crisis

Project Hawai’i, Inc. is nonprofit organization run 100% by volunteers and solely supported by public donations. Our team is dedicated to help the homeless children succeed. We currently have full time outreach services and events on 3 islands of Hawai'i. Volunteers are welcome from any island or mainland locations.
We are seeking a few people who love to write, be on social media, make connections, and reach out virtually to various media platforms.
Our goal for these volunteers is to take on ONE of the following projects and help us with the sharing of the information, announcements, events, etc. on the chosen platform. Typically this can be a a few hour a month commitment; however, we will have specific dates/details and timelines that will be in place for some posts.

Here is a list of needs.

  1. Social Media Platform FACEBOOK needs: Currently we are seeking a volunteer who can assist with sharing and posting on our page/groups, etc. One specific project coming up is starting in July-Sept. We will need a volunteer to make a weekly shout out including tagging and hashtaging our sponsor. Ohana Fuels is sponsoring our charity for their 3rd quarter fundraising. We need to make a weekly post to encourage our followers to participate in the events.
  2. LinkedIN Media Platform. Seeking someone who can log in to our agency account, share our announcements from IG/Facebook/Newsletters. While this is not a daily need, we would love to have someone who can take a few minutes to post a few times a week. (it might require up to 4 - 5 minutes)
  3. Media/Announcement writer. Looking for someone who can write short stories, announcements, etc. to various local newspapers. Sending email, or filling out online forms is most common. Would love to have a once a month, or at min., each event we host for the homeless children. For example, our Easter event, summer camp, Christmas, etc.
  4. Anyone who wishes to participate to help spread the awareness of our program and share our Feed a Child campaign on our own social media feed would be amazing. This can be a ONE time commitment. Share this link on your feed and mention why it is important to you to help a homeless child with Project Hawai’i, Inc. https://www.helpthehomelesskeiki.org/monthly-sponsorship

Description

Project Hawai'i, Inc., is a nonprofit organization run 100% by volunteers to enhance the lives of children living in poverty situations on the islands of Hawai'i. Our public supported charity works year round to provide necessities to children living in substandard housing situations, such as tents on the waters edge, abandon vehicles, and make-shift structures hidden in the bushes and hills.

Our agency provides children with holiday parties, meals and services for all the major holidays including Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Other monthly services include providing emergency support, hygiene, food, clothing and outreach to the children living in homeless situations on 3 of the islands of Hawai'i, the Big Island (Hawai'i), Mau'i and O'ahu.

Project Hawai'i also provides educational and nutritional programs that include after school reading and tutoring programs and our summer camp activities. Children will also receive full back to school support from new backpacks filled with supplies, new outfits, and shoes. We also provide other educational needs throughout the year.

Project Hawai'i Summer Camp has ran for 15 years and won several dozen awards in nutrition and educational support. This program is our largest endevor and evolves year after to year to include even more learning opportunities to our keiki.
