Your neighbors need your help, and the Social Bridging Project is a safe, socially distant way to lend a hand.

The Social Bridging Project, anchored in California’s Office of Emergency Services, delivers life-saving state and local resources through wellness and disaster readiness phone calls. Bridgers make calls to Californians using easy to use phone banking tools. Bridgers have access to professionally prepared scripts and vetted reference materials and are supported by our skilled team with thorough training and have direct support during service. Calling is available Wednesday through Sunday.

About Listos California Social Bridging Project

Mission Statement

The Social Bridging Project is the state of California’s pioneering public health and safety outreach campaign. By re-engineering tech and tools usually used for voter engagement, we counter social distancing through direct phone calls to people at risk from COVID-19 and natural disasters. Our callers, known as Bridgers, connect the most vulnerable Californians with government resources, emergency alerts and other life-changing--and lifesaving--referrals. With innovation and heart, our Bridgers are rising to meet 2020’s historic confluence of pandemic, economic and wildfire disasters. With every call, the Social Bridging Project assures Californians facing adversity: "You Are Not Alone."

Description

Since launching in August 2019, Listos California has been leading efforts to shape a new pathway for how the state invests in and works with community-based partners and local leaders to drive awareness of complex issues and motivate behavioral change among hard-to-reach populations.

As of November 2020, Listos California engaged more than 1.6 million Californians who are older adults, people with disabilities, those living in poverty, as well as people with language barriers, with crucial disaster preparedness information. This outcome is based on the campaign’s strong network of 300+ local partners, an effective public awareness and communications effort, and a statewide strategy that balances local flexibility with accountability.
