Make a difference in the life of a child!
Volunteers will work in a public school or after school program. Classroom teachers will be on-site. Volunteers will not "teach" a child to read; it is time for a child to practice their reading. The teacher and children will select the reading material. Opportunities are available across the county.
Individuals will listen to a child practice a reading assignment. Emphasis is on grades kindergarten - 3rd grade. Volunteers will work in the classroom with the teacher present. No special skills are needed! As a result of increase reading/literacy skills, the children will be more successful in their public education opportunities, which will in turn lead to a better-educated work force. Make a difference in the life of a child today!
