Children from low-income families are at the greatest risk of suffering the effects of diaper need. Since the pandemic started, we have received numerous requests from parents struggling to afford diapers. Hope on Union's Diaper Ministry exists to bring diapers to the children who need them the most. We serve a Spanish-speaking community so volunteers must be bilingual.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • organize diapers (or other baby goods) for distribution & distribute them
  • sign-in guests
  • ensure people are practicing social distancing and wearing face masks
  • converse in Spanish and call them as needed
  • interact with parents and their cute kids!
  • make a difference!
We look forward to you joining our team. And thanks for checking us out.

1053 West 23rd Street, Los Angeles, CA 90007, US

Mission Statement

United University Church is an open and affirming congregation that seeks to live out our call to be a home of faith for all people and to be an agent of hope to our neighbors. We affirm that everyone is created in the image of God, and each person enables us to see a fuller picture of God.

Description

Hope on Union, United University Church is an inclusive, progressive bi-denominational church previously located on the USC campus and has relocated to University Park. It was formed from a merger of the University United Methodist Church and the Old First Presbyterian Church of Los Angeles in 1982. These two congregations shared their commitment to ministries of justice and had long histories of lifting up the humanity of the marginalized and protecting the dignity of the oppressed. They were not afraid to be the first to step up to protect the vulnerable, break color and gender barriers, and openly and enthusiastically welcome the LGBTQI+ community.
