We are looking for passionate committee members for the Vail Valley Walk to End Alzheimer's.
A Walk Planning Committee members role includes some or all of the following: attending monthly committee meetings (in person and/or virtual), making phone calls to participants, writing thank you cards, reaching out to connections to help secure participants and sponsorships, assisting with the marketing of the event, participating on the Walk social media pages, fundraising, etc. Your Alzheimer's Association staff partner supports you throughout the program and is flexible and happy to tailor your volunteer experience around your interests, skills, and schedule (as able). We are currently 100% remote.
Ideal volunteers would have some of these traits: enjoying connecting with people, enthusiasm, passion for ending Alzheimer's and all dementia, creativity, comfortable talking on the phone, etc.
Monthly commitment: Approximately 2-3 hours per month. This will vary depending on the month, and as mentioned above, our staff partner is very flexible with what works for you. While the Walk is scheduled for September 25th, we like working with volunteers year-round. Most volunteer opportunities will begin in February and go through November 2021.
Whether we’re together at a large in-person gathering or walking in small groups in our individual neighborhoods, we can make a difference. Our constituents, staff, and volunteers' health and safety will continue to be our top priority as we assess the changing status of the pandemic and decide how we’ll walk in 2021.
Staff Partner: Catie Davis, cdavis@alz.org, 303.813.1669x9613
*Volunteering will not actually take place at the address listed. We are looking for volunteers nearby the address to join our committee! Connect with Catie Davis about this opportunity.
