Saturdays, May 8-June 12, The Empowerment Factory will be hosting an outdoor, socially distanced "Art in the Park" program in Pawtucket at Fairlawn Veterans Memorial Park. Children will read a book together and do an art project. In the event that the weather prevents us from hosting the program, we will meet the following Sunday instead.

It will take place 11am-12pm, but volunteers will be needed a half hour before and after the program's duration. You do not have to sign up to come to all six Saturdays as long as you let us know which Saturdays you will be able to attend and which you will not be able to.

Volunteers are needed to assist with registration to ensure the event meets all the COVID-19 social distancing standards. Once registration is complete, additional help will be needed to ensure the children keep their distance, wear their masks, and stay focused on the program. We will also need help unloading and loading materials.

To sign up as a volunteer, please visit our website and fill out the Volunteer form - www.TheEmpowermentFactory.org/volunteer

Mission Statement

Creating happier, healthier more empowered people.

Description

About Us:

The Empowerment Factory (TEF) is dedicated to giving children the skills they need to lead happier, healthier lives. We focus on three areas of development: creativity, self-esteem, and civic pride. The Creative Squad programs blend hands-on activities with social emotional learning (SEL) and environmental education. Our vision is for every child to develop the confidence and ability to express themselves, while becoming actively engaged in their communities. Every child should feel that they matter and can make a difference in the world around them.

The Empowerment Factory offers programs and special events for schools, after school, organizations, libraries and youth groups that help children develop the skills they need to succeed.

It was founded by Gail Ahlers, as a nonprofit organization in April of 2014 and became a federally recognized 501(c)3 as of August 2016. Our blended learning model has positively impacted over 3700 urban youth with the creation of 34 after-school clubs and 13 summer programs, 90 percent of whom live in under-served communities.

We welcome your involvement and support. You can give your resources, volunteer your time and advocate as we work together to build a better world.
