Cob construction is an ancient construction method that will be included in the 2021 International Residential Code (Appendix U) and we plan to build a cob dwelling in Marin County. We hope this dwelling will become a prototype for truly affordable housing.
Volunteer for a weekend this summer 2021 and learn how to build with cob, which is mud and straw.
Care Association is currently 100% volunteers.

Care Association plans, develops, and implements innovative strategies to alleviate economic burdens on lower- and middle-income households. We serve households in the United States that pay more than 30% of their gross income on housing or are transient because of lack of affordable housing. With the Care For Us web platform, we aim first to establish connections between households that are unable to compete in inflated real estate markets and homeowners who prefer to offer housing on their own terms. Secondly, we aim to connect and offer goods and services to those in need. Thirdly, we curate information and provide links to resources to inspire and enrich users’ experience.
Care Association is focused on alleviating the economic burdens of low- and middle-income households by creating truly affordable housing. We are currently in the development process of an accessory dwelling unit that will be deeded affordable in Marin County, and provide a prototype for housing that has a low materials cost.
