Mentoring Conversation

Right now, minority entrepreneurs are facing unique barriers to business success. At SCORE, we’re working to change that by removing those obstacles and providing minority-owned businesses with access to personalized support in our SCORE for All program: to meet business owners where they are and help them reach their business goals.

As a Mentor you will use your industry-based knowledge and expertise to help clients solve problems, increase business efficiency, and assist with developing long-term business plans. Mentors often have significant experience within their field, excellent communication skills, and the ability to dedicate several hours a week to our Clients and to our Platinum Chapter.

As a Subject Matter Expert Mentors (SME), you would be an adjunct expert called in to provide specialized support and advice to assist a SCORE mentor when their client needs a deeper dive on a specific topic.

Topics where minority-owned businesses need support include (but are not limited to): government contracting, minority business enterprise certification, finance, accounting, human resources management, website design, development, and webmaster skills; social media and digital marketing skills; taxation and specialized finance skills; IT infrastructure and cloud computing understanding and advice.

If you have a several hours per month and want to share your specialized expertise with a local small business owner, become a SCORE Mentor or Subject Matter Expert.
