Social Media Volunteer to Assist President Animal Welfare Organization Global Strays

Global Strays, an international animal welfare organization, is looking for an innovative visual thinker to work alongside the President to help daily with social media. These responsibilities will include creating captions, photo editing, posting stories, IGTV, etc.... The president will be collaborating with this volunteer on many levels, though sometimes the volunteer will create his/her own content based on current global news in animal welfare.

Responsibilities:

-1-3 hours a day for a minimum of 3 months to assist the president with captioning, subtitling videos, creating and brainstorming content, and photo editing with the ColorStory app and Canva. If applicant is not familiar with these 2 apps, thorough tutorials will be given but volunteer must possess creativity and be visually skilled.

-Researching and creating content on current animal news from around the world.

-Liking and commenting on our social media account.

-Researching innovative ways to grow our community on social media and be more interactive with our followers.

-Be very well versed in Instagram and Facebook. We do not use Twitter.

Qualifications:

Excellent story telling and writing skills that capture the attention of an audience quickly and concisely.

Experienced with posting to Instagram and Facebook. This includes captioning, photo editing, story creation, IGTV, hashtags, reels, and Facebook Live. All other innovative ideas would be welcomed.

-Interest in international animal welfare especially dogs, cats and horses.

-Some knowledge of video and how to create captivating video content on an Iphone.

Please include any skills not mentioned above related to social media in your cover letter. We provide training in photo editing apps but would prefer someone who has some prior knowledge of photography and photo editing.

Global Strays is a 501(c)(3) animal welfare non-profit organization, which helps and protects animals around the world in collaboration with our partner organizations.

Description

We send monthly support for the upkeep of our partners’ animal shelters for crucial needs such as dog and cat food, construction materials, cleaning supplies and allowing for paid caretakers. We also provide urgent veterinarian care for sick and injured recently rescued animals. Our programs also include essential veterinarian care and spay and neutering services for stray animals and low-income families with pets.In keeping with the One Health model, we hold educational events for families to learn how to better care for their pets, their community and their environment. Currently, Global Strays has programs in Nicaragua, Colombia and the Dominican Republic.
