McLaren Hospice is looking for dedicated individuals who would like to make a difference in the lives of patients that are being faced with advanced illness. Training is provided and no medical knowledge is necessary.
We are seeking volunteers who have experience with dogs and/or cats, perhaps with a rescue or similar organization. Volunteers would be asked to help with the care of hospice patient's pets.
Services may include:
- dog walking
- pet waste cleanup
- playing fetch
- transporting pet to the vet office
- assist with re-homing after pet parent passes away
McLaren Hospice is an end of life program that provides care and comfort to a patient and their family, including the four legged members. Our goal is to assist patients to keep their pet by their side as long as they desire.

Description
The McLaren Hospice Program is a special kind of care designed to provide support and comfort for people in the final phase of a terminal illness. Our hospice team provides services to meet the physical, spiritual, psychological, social and emotional needs of each patient and their family. We strive to enable patient's to carry on a pain free life and to manage other symptoms so that the last days with family and friends may be spent with as much dignity and quality of life as possible.
