SCH&G

The gardens at Stevens-Coolidge House & Gardens in North Andover are currently undergoing a revitalizing expansion, and The Trustees is looking for outgoing and engaging volunteers to join us in welcoming visitors to the exciting new gardens. Garden Tour Guides will lead groups of visitors on tours of the grounds and engage them in conversation about the beauty, history, and importance of the Stevens-Coolidge gardens.

This opportunity is for individuals who enjoy talking to people and have an interest in gardens or gardening, local Massachusetts’ history, or Stevens-Coolidge House & Gardens. Training will be provided, so no previous knowledge of the property or a green thumb is required, just an excitement to learn.

Tours will take place on weekends at 11AM for groups of up to 20 visitors or current state mandated Covid19 limit (currently 11 plus guide). The tours will be 40-50 minutes in length and include a short 1/4 mile walk through the gardens on crushed stone pathways and grass. This volunteer opportunity is wheelchair accessible.

Training will take place Sunday March 14 th at 11AM and Tuesday March 16 th at 6PM virtually on Zoom. Practice tours will follow in early April at the property.

Mission Statement

The Trustees of Reservations preserve, for public use and enjoyment, properties of exceptional scenic, historic, and ecological value in Massachusetts.

Description

Who We Are

We are more than 100,000 people like you who love the outdoors, who love the distinctive charms of New England, and who believe in celebrating and protecting them, for everyone, forever.

Together with our neighbors, we protect the distinct character of our communities and inspire a commitment to our special places. Our passion is to share with everyone the irreplaceable natural and cultural treasures we care for.

What We Do

We enjoy and care for more than 100 special places - nearly 25,000 acres - all around Massachusetts. And we are actively building an extended family of friends and neighbors across the state that can help in their different ways.

What We Are Up Against

Through more than 100 years of hard work and high standards, The Trustees have built a sterling reputation and a stunning physical legacy.

Today, the places we care about are going fast, and the forces undermining them, including climate change, are moving faster. We need to tap the wellspring of people’s joy - in their communities, their heritage, and the natural world - and mobilize a whole new generation to care.
