In the wake of COVID-19, we have pivoted many of our programs to stream online or be a hybrid of virtual and live. An intern's role is vital in order to keep our patrons, donors, volunteers and members abreast of these changes and opportunities through social media and other marketing tools.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge of the following social media platforms: Instagram/Facebook/YouTube
  • Knowledge of Canva to create customized social media content/edits
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized, can multi-task
  • Must be internet savvy and have a strong interest in social media.
  • Must be comfortable using Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Slides
  • Current high school, college student, recent graduate or someone looking to get first-hand start-up experience
  • Ability to commit at least 10 hours/week, in-addition to bi-monthly meetings
  • Photography and Adobe Suite experience is a bonus

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the company’s social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube) and posts content.
  • Brainstorms campaign ideas.
  • Assist in copywriting for social media and blog posts.
  • Analyzes analytics/create performance reports to gauge the success of campaigns.
  • Research and assist with partnerships and collaborations.
  • Support the daily upkeep of web and social media channels
  • Influencer outreach and tracking

Education/Experience:

  • High school student, college student, or entry-level professional looking for experience

The Center for African American Military History (CAAMH), inc., dba Buffalo Soldiers National Museum (BSNM), is dedicated to exploring and displaying the stories and contributions of African Americans in the military by way of performing and visual arts, educational programming. and exhibitions.

Description

The BSNM achieves its mission through its educational programs, historic research, visual arts, environment, school tours, performing arts, teacher workshops, youth outreach programs and exhibits. Our vision is to build pride and patriotism in everyone as they review the historic contributions of the men and women across all cultures and ethnicities who have served in America's armed forces.Our hope is to extend public knowledge of achievements of all of America’s African American armed forces personnel to the full general public. Thus building pride and patriotism throughout all of America’s communities, with particular emphasis on the youth.
