Mission Statement

The mission of the Vickery Meadow Summer Reading Academy (VMSRA) is to include the students of Vickery Meadow who would not read/write or hear/speak English all summer; provide food, socialization and exercise for those who would not eat well, or even leave the apartment because parents work and are afraid to let them play outside; tutor students so that they are better prepared and inspired to enter school in the Fall after four weeks of the Academy. Since March 2020, MRH and VMSRA have been fuly virtual, and will continue to be until the pandemic subsides and volunteers are once again permitted to volunteer in person.
