Kara Tutoring Ltd., a 501(c)(3) non-profit based in Houston, TX, is looking for dedicated tutors who can join our international community of passionate and compassionate teachers! If you meet our score requirements (which can be viewed at this link https://karatutoring.com/tutor-app/) you will be eligible to teach either the ACT, SAT, SAT II, AP, IB, A-Levels, GCSE, and other international examinations. Tutoring experience recommended but not required. If you are looking for service hours for school, we are able to file the necessary paperwork for you as well as submit recommendation letters if necessary. For U.S. citizens, we also offer the opportunity to attain the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) to tutors who meet the requirements for the reward. This award consists of a medal, certificate, and a letter signed by the President of the United States. Kara Tutoring Ltd., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Texas, was founded on the premise that every student from every corner of the world deserves a right to equal opportunities for education regardless of financial background. Our tutors acknowledge that many intelligent students lack the guidance and support to realize their full potential; thus, our staff works selflessly to ensure that all financially disadvantaged students receive the preparation necessary for their success in the 21st century.
Description
Kara Tutoring Ltd. was founded by former managing director George Karassoulos in December of 2018. While engaging in conversations with financially disadvantaged students on Reddit in early December, he heard a story from an Afghan teenager whose dream was to get a full scholarship into an American college. However, there was one thing holding him back from a scholarship - his academics.
Kara Tutoring offers free tutoring in the SAT, SAT II, ACT, AP, IB, GCSE, A-Levels, TOEFL, IELTS, & general subject tutoring for financially disadvantaged students. To this date, we have attained over 260+ tutors from over 45 different countries. We have cumulatively tutored hundreds of students for thousands of hours and look forward to more hours to come.
