Spectrum Generations has an opening for an intern in our HR department. Our department supports program staff for Meals on Wheels, Healthy Living for ME, Family Caregiver Support throughout the central Maine area. Our services are assisting those in need and directly affected by COVID 19.
Tasks may include:
- filing
- phone calls and screenings
- file reconciliation
- administrative tasks
- research and professional development tasks
Training will be provided. Intern would have the opportunity to learn from and be trained by members of the HR team to build skills in the field. This is a great opportunity for a student interested in the Human Resources profession. Intern should have the following skills:
- ability to converse well with others
- ability to learn new tasks to proficiency
- ability to retain information leaned
- detail orientated
- ability to work well in a professional office environment
- reliable and dependable
Schedule and number of hours may be worked out on an individual basis, the office is open between the hours of 8 am and 4:30 pm on weekdays. This is an in person, in office role. The office does abide by local COVID 19 safety guidelines.

Spectrum Generations:
- Offers a variety of assistance and services to seniors and disabled adults and their families ranging from a friendly helping hand to trained care including Meals on Wheels, Adult DayBreak, Family Caregiver Services, Money Management, and Bridges Personal Services and Care Management.
- Provides information about questions and concerns on a wide variety of issues that impact adults including Maine Care, Medicare, money-saving benefits programs as well as referral services and community presentations.
- Encourages the passions of aging and/or disabled adults and their families for lifelong learning through programs, classes, and workshops at our seven community centers.
- Provides opportunities and connections to participate in rewarding experiences such as social dining, travel, fitness and wellness programs, special events, and volunteer opportunities.

- Flexible schedule between the hours of 8-4:30 on weekdays. Number of total hours per week can depend on the intern's needs, a minimum of 10-15 is desired.
- Intern will be required to complete HIPPA and confidentiality training. Intern will be required to follow Spectrum Generations safety guidelines during participation at the agency.
