It’s time to start planning for the 2021 Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Knoxville - and time to convene our Planning Committee! This group of dedicated volunteers is at the heart of every Walk to End Alzheimer’s event. The Planning Committee works together to develop and grow the event - advancing the fight against Alzheimer’s from the ground up. Right now, we’re searching for an outgoing and self-motivated person to serve as the 2021 Team Recruitment Chair!


The Team Recruitment Co-Chair serves as one of the primary lead for recruiting new Walk teams and executing the Company Team Kickoff Event. This position will assemble a Subcommittee that can recruit new teams from all sectors of the community with a focus on company teams. They will also provide fundraising guidance to new Team Captains.

The Walk Committee is a staff supported, volunteer led event. You will have a 100% guidance from staff and resources available to you that will enable you to guide other volunteers as well.

To lead recruitment, one must love talking! One must love engaging in conversations and meeting new people.

The Team Recruitment Chair reports to the Event Chair and should meet these qualifications:

  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Well-connected in the company community and willing to ask others to support the cause.

  • Strong networking skills.

  • Enthusiastic, outgoing and motivating.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Meet with the Event Chair, Co-Chair and Staff Partner to develop a plan of action to ensure that team recruitment and Company Team Kickoff goals can and will be met.

  • Recruit and train the Team Recruitment Subcommittee from all industries that represent your community. Oversee the Team Recruitment Subcommittee meetings/check-ins to monitor progress and ensure everyone is on target to meet their goals.

  • Develop and implement strategies to recruit new teams in the community with a focus on company teams but also engaging families and friends, organizations, facilities, schools, support groups, hospitals and churches.

  • Facilitate the recruitment of new teams by planning and executing the Company Team Kickoff two months prior to the Walk.

  • Facilitate the Team Captain Engagement Plan to develop relationships with new Team Captains.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18
  • The person selected for this position must serve through the end of 2021. The time commitment includes preparing for and attending monthly committee meetings and ongoing community outreach.
  • Committee meetings will be online via phone/video. Members will communicate via phone, email and text. Volunteers will be required to follow organization COVID protocols when representing the association.
