American Red Cross volunteers travel all over the country during times of need to provide direct assistance to those affected by disaster. Volunteers in the Utah & Nevada Region deployed to Texas, Louisiana, Colorado, Oregon, and other locations this past year to work in shelters, provide food, and provide ongoing assistance to people affected by massive wildfires and hurricanes. We need a leadership volunteer to oversee this deployment program to ensure our volunteers can get to where they need to be to support communities in their most difficult moments. The time commitment is flexible, all training is provided, and you can complete the majority of your duties from home. This position can be based anywhere in Utah or Nevada.

Key responsibilities:

• Coordination with Disaster Cycle Services team, Disaster Workforce Engagement Team, and disaster responders to ensure readiness
• Assigning and deploying responders from within their region to disaster-affected areas
• Promoting deployment to staff and volunteers throughout the region and assisting and training responders to enter their availability in Volunteer Connection
• Ensuring that the steps in the Deploy Workers Standards and Procedures are completed
• Ensuring coordinated community to workforce to increase availability for deployment to Disaster Relief Operation
• Ensuring team members are trained in recruitment and deployment procedures
• Ensuring coverage of requests for deployable volunteers
• Reviewing post-deployment interview information collected by team members for trends in recruitment, deployment, or operational issues
