Are you ready to make a difference in the life of a child?
The Take Stock in Children Program is looking for caring, concerned adult mentors to guide low-income students through high school and help them prepare for college. Most of our students will be the first in their families to attend college and, for some, the first student in the family to graduate from high school. It is very rewarding to make such a positive difference in their lives!
We’ll pair you up with a student to meet with them regularly at school or through virtual platforms. There are many ways to promote student success. Take Stock in Children seeks mentors to inspire and guide young minds. A few hours a month can make a huge difference in a child’s life.
We ask our mentors to commit to a minimum of 30 minutes twice a month, no less than 15 times an academic year, to meet program requirements. We provide activities, training and support to help guide your mentoring meetings.
It's easy to become a mentor! Our volunteer mentor application process looks like this:
- Complete a Mentor Application.
- Complete a fingerprinting process.
- Watch a training video.
- Get matched to a student!
