ORGANIZATION: School on Wheels

Tutoring

Are you passionate about education and helping children in need? Volunteering as a tutor for a child experiencing homelessness is a meaningful way to impact your community. School on Wheels is the only nonprofit in Southern California geared toward providing tutoring and educational mentoring specifically for children living in homeless situations. We currently have an urgent need for in-person spanish-speaking volunteers in Santa Barbara.

Apply to become a tutor today: https://schoolonwheels.org/apply-to-be-a-volunteer/

Tutoring usually happens Monday-Friday between 3-7 pm. As a volunteer tutor, you will receive in-depth training and ongoing support from our award-winning staff. We will provide you with a curriculum to use in your tutoring sessions!

Volunteer Testimonial:

"Tutoring with Schools on Wheels is one of the most rewarding experiences that you can have. You'll work with your student on their good days, bad days, and all those in between. You'll encourage them when they struggle and celebrate them when they succeed. You'll learn about their hopes and fears and see the world from their perspective. It's a simple commitment, but the impact you can make on a student's life cannot be overstated - I really can't recommend it enough!" - Volunteer Tutor, Caleb.
