How can you help?

During these uncertain times we would love to be able to draw on the skills of an experienced graphic designer to support one of our projects.

In September 2019, The Charity’s Gifts and Partnerships team launched a Donor Insights Project to measure the levels of trust, motivation, commitment and satisfaction experienced by our key supporters in relation to The Brain Tumour Charity and the charitable sector overall. We knew that understanding our supporters better would set us apart as an organisation worth investing in and establish stronger and more loyal partnerships.

We developed a list of questions and conducted face to face interviews with 20 participants. The data was then analysed and as a result an internal report was written to be shared across The Charity.

We’re now creating a report to be shared externally with participating donors, the content for which is ready. We’re looking for help with the creative design.

We’re looking for...

A creative graphic designer who can help us covert a very word heavy document into an impactful external document, presenting our findings in a slick and concise manner - to be shared with philanthropists and business people. The finished product must be visually appealing, succinct and easy to digest.

We would value your expertise and input to design the report, which contains the key findings and stats from the project and powerful quotes from our supporters.

The report is currently in Publisher format and the finished product will be sent as a PDF. We're looking for someone with access to relevant graphic design programs (Illustrator/InDesign).

Person specification

For this project we would like you to:

  • use the style guides and design patterns provided to ensure the end product is in keeping with The Charity’s brand
  • be comfortable using evidence, data and research

Ideally we’re looking for a volunteer who would be available to support the project within the coming weeks; due to the pandemic this report has already been considerably delayed.

Practical considerations

This is an integral piece of research for the Charity and contains confidential and pertinent information, which is incredibly valuable to us and must not be shared with any other parties.

The Charity will provide you with our brand guidelines and templates including any icons and images necessary. We would arrange a video call with you and send a detailed brief to discuss how we envisage the finished product to look and feel.

Time commitment

This is a short-term project which we’d ideally like completed within the coming two months, as we’re aiming to send the report to the participants by 26 February 2021.

We’ll need to allow enough time to review an initial draft, make any necessary amends and have the document signed off by our Senior Leadership Team before the report is ready to be sent externally at the end of February. We’re more than happy to work with you to agree a timeline that suits you before the volunteer role commences.

What's in it for the volunteer?

This is an opportunity to work closely with our friendly team and use your expertise to play a key part in the project, making a tangible contribution to an integral piece of research for The Charity.

During these uncertain times, we are reliant on volunteer support more than ever - to help us achieve our goals of doubling survival and halving the harm that brain tumours cause.
