DEFEND is a volunteer-run international nonprofit, looking to reduce risks for children and vulnerable people online.

Committee Members with DEFEND will help guide and oversee overall goals and ensure the mission is at the core of all choices. Individuals will meet weekly on Zoom to discuss long term goals and make incremental steps towards project plan accomplishments. We are looking to make online safer for children and vulnerable persons. We currently have several teams dedicated to advancing this mission (In the areas of tech, advocacy education among others).

TIME COMMITMENT: A few hours per week, ongoing (remote work)

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend and contribute in weekly Committee meetings
  • Discuss team progress and develop on overall Project Plan;
  • Support our 25+ different teams and 230+ volunteers however possible
  • Assess policies and advance their development;
  • Work with the teams to accomplish goals of all sizes
  • Attend and vote on group interviews (candidates for team team leads and the committee)
Plus, all DEFEND team members can set a goal weekly and accomplish that goal, then they will be entered to win a $40 US Amazon gift card; new draw weekly! That's one of the great programs we have for all volunteers/team members.
