Retired and Senior Volunteer Program/MACOA
You can make a difference in the life of a child
Children in 15 area schools look forward to working with RSVP tutors each week. Anyone can be a special helper to these students...all you have to do is commit at least 30 minutes per week. Frequent interaction with the volunteers creates important one-on-one relationships for students with a trusted adult, increases confidence, and improves grades.
Senior volunteers help students to learn to read with the use of flash cards, games, and other available resources. Some volunteers choose to work with individual students or small groups of students. There are many unique needs in our schools, and a variety of assignments to meet each volunteer's talents.

The purpose of RSVP is to link the skills, knowledge, and experience of the volunteer with identified needs in the community, and to provide rewarding opportunities for seniors.
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers, while matching personal interests and skills of older Americans to needs of the community.
We'll work with your schedule.
