We are currently seeking hard-working and dedicated volunteers committed to empowering their neighbors and residents in Alameda County by providing nutritional nourishment and alleviating food insecurity.
It would require help with set -up, crowd control, and keeping sign-in sheets for food distribution to residents living in affordable housing communities. The volunteer must be able to lift up to 50lbs and be willing to obtain a Food Handler's certification - which only takes about a 45-minute training. It will also be helpful to have transportation in case assistance with transporting food is needed. Bilingual in Spanish is also preferred but not required.
We are looking for 2 more volunteers for Esperanza, Rosefield Village, Independence Plaza, Anne B. Diament Plaza, Littlejohn Commons, and Everrett Commons (Alameda, CA).
The food distribution at this site occurs every other Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
