We are a peer and Veteran run Minnesota Mental health Non-profit looking for a few new Board Members! With our lived-experience we bring a unique opportunity to the community through education, advocacy and support. We have become an important contact for Mental Health First Aid teaching and we are proud to have been named as the first tMHFA Implementation Organization in MN by the National Council for Behavioral Health! So far we have empowered OVER 1700 community members to feel confident in being a firstaider and help others. We believe everyone should have this opportunity.
Become a part of a great group of people with a passion to prevent suicide, bring positive community Mental Health opportunities, and support all who might need a listening ear.

Mission Statement
The Heart and Mind Connection© is a Peer-run, veteran and woman owned 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to mental health and substance use recovery, advocacy and awareness. Our mission is to develop connection, foster purpose and empower ourselves and others struggling with hope, through education, suicide prevention programming and legislative activism.
Description
The Heart and Mind Connection (c) is an organization built by those with lived experience in mental illness and substance use disorders and for those who are struggling, their families and their communities that desire to bring support, education and change to the conversations around mental health. We provide classes and trainings across the Midwest, sponsor and participate in many events each year and deliver supportive and educational programming around the state.
Founded by a veteran/stand-up comedian and a physical therapist/Biology teacher, they bring their experiences with mental illness, substance use disorder and recovery to all they do.
We are always looking for opportunities to engage with communities in opening up conversations about what mental wellness is, how we can support those who struggle and how to end the stigma that is so pervasive around mental illness and suicide. And we do it in unique, fun ways that connect with all ages...join us!
