Hand-crafted items for trauma victims
Care and Share is a group of people who knit, crochet, piece and quilt colorful, washable child-friendly small blankets which are given to children in times of trauma at hospitals, by police officers and court appointed social services. The group meets once a week to work on the blankets. Volunteers can come once a week or make the blankets at home and bring them when completed.
Volunteers choose the medium in which they wish to work. Make the colorful blankets for children along the theme of Linus, the Peanut's character, and his security blanket.
In addition to the blankets, once a month, they have another meeting where volunteers make a simple seasonal craft. The group chooses which agency whose clients will be recipients of their handwork, ie Hospice, local hospitals, Hope Place, Tennessee Valley Family Services , etc.
