Science writer (Infectious Diseases, on-line)
World Infectious Disease Monitoring Foundation (WoIDMo)
We are looking for a science writer to help keep our website up to date. Our subjects are related to infectious diseases (like COVID-19) and while the articles can be fairly technical, you should know how to write accessible texts that are engaging for a wide audience. You will either be given a topic with supporting information or if you run into something interesting develop your own topics.
We hope to turn this into a long-term collaboration.

Requirements:
Knowing how to write from the perspective of the reader and being engaging.
Applicants should have a degree in:
-Biology
-Molecular biology
-Epidemiology
-Public health
-Virology
-Related fields
Applicants who can provide samples of their writing will be given preference. The samples do not need to be science related. We just want to get some sense of your writing style.

Mission Statement
The World Infectious Disease Monitoring Foundation (WoIDMo) is a non-profit organization, established in 2020, that brings together a network of individuals from around the world. Our mission is to raise awareness of the importance of monitoring infectious diseases globally and how they affect us. One of the important aspects of our foundation is to function as an early warning system for emerging diseases. We also support development of better diagnostics and enable fast delivery of diagnostics where needed, especially where resource-limited countries are involved. For this we work together with other NGO’s that have boots on the ground. To further our understanding of infectious diseases and how to deal with them, we aim to support researchers working on projects relevant to our goals.

We are a non-political organization who's aim is to raise awareness and make a difference in ways that are as practical as possible. At this moment we are small and could use support in multiple area's like copywriting, social media, marketing, webdesign and web app programming.
