EDUCATION TEAMs POSITIONS

Education Team

Team Description: Education Team engages with youth to create a better understanding of humane education. This includes creating and facilitating educational activities virtually and in-person classroom visits.

1. Position Title: Educator

Position Description: Educators interact with children of varying ages for humane educational opportunities which includes live and virtual, offering them a positive and engaging experience. Further, educators will be responsible for creating educational activities based on Georgia Performance Standards and our mission.

Qualifications for Position: Education and/or customer service skills. Interest in working with the public, especially families and children. Experience working with children is a plus. Ability to work well with others, accept supervision, and remain flexible. Creative and Resourceful to create fun and educational activities and experiences. Education Team has a team FB page for coordination and collaboration etc. so must be able to use and access Facebook.

Availability needed: Varies, during initial program development stage: 3-6 hours per week while creating and developing activities to market to the public for the school year. Ongoing, as needed for education outreach requests, program segments will be 1 to 3 hours.

2. Position Title:Education Assistant Coordinator

Position Description: Assist Project and Events Coordinator by responding to email requests from schools, parents, and youth. Posting on the Education Facebook page for Educators when virtual or in-person requests are received and approved. Adding requests and educators to the internal event calendar. Acting as liaison between Project and Events Coordinator and Volunteers.
Qualifications for Position: Detailed, able to clearly communicate requests and follow up. Must be able to use Facebook and AAU email and be able to receive attachments such as videos and pictures.

Availability needed: Flexible as long as deadline awareness is maintained.

3. Position Title: Scout Project Advisor- Girl Scouts

Position Description: A project advisor offers a Girl Scout guidance and expertise as needed, during the planning and execution of the girl’s Award project. Note that it’s important that the project and its core ideas be the Girl Scout’s own. (Bronze, Silver and Gold)

Qualifications for Position: Education and/or customer service skills. Scout experience is a plus. Interest in working with the public, especially families and children. Experience working with children is a plus. Ability to work well with others, accept supervision, and remain flexible. Education Team has a team FB page for coordination and collaboration etc. so must be able to use and access Facebook.

Availability needed: Varies, dependent on the project timeline and scout’s availability. May require monthly meetings until the project is completed.
