Telephone reassurance callers
Volunteers make calls to homebound persons, usually in the mornings, to check to see that they are okay. Names and phone numbers are provided by family members who request assistance in making sure the person is well and safe. Conversations are usually brief, but volunteers will follow up in the event of an emergency.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is a federal program charged with leading efforts to expand the use of service and volunteering as key solutions that respond to our nation's most pressing challenges. Our mission is to improve lives, strengthen communities and foster civic engagement, through service and volunteering. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of volunteers with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
