Remote Grant Writing Volunteer

FarmSahel is a nonprofit startup on a mission to unlock the potential of women of sub-Saharan Africa to achieve economic freedom through agribusiness.

We are seeking a volunteer who wants to make a difference by using their writing and research skills for the good cause of helping women farmers in Burkina Faso.

Volunteer Grant Writer duties and responsibilities:

  • Research grant opportunities from government and non-government agencies.
  • Draft grant proposals based on the funding requirements of the organization.
  • Submit proposals to the Executive Director for approval.
  • Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals.

Skills:

  • Excellent research and communication skills.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Creative and innovative approaches to winning grants.

We are looking for someone who can commit to 10 hours a week. This can be a long-term opportunity.

The wright candidate is a college student looking to build a career in grant writing, a retired experienced grant writer looking to spend his/her spare time volunteering

Description

FarmSahel collects used farm machinery donated by farmers in the United States and ships them to rural farmers in Africa, trains them in ecologically safe farming best practices. Farmsahel has developed a training model for agricultural education that encourages partnerships with US farmers to share their knowledge with our rural farmers. At Farmsahel we believe that farmer sponsorship has the power to drive change that ripples throughout farmers's lives, their families and their communities.
