What is CLYNK?

CLYNK is an innovative "drop and go" bottle and can redemption service that allows customers to accumulate a balance in a personal account or donate funds to an organization. Customers simply fill their green CLYNK bag, tag it and drop it off at their local Hannaford. CLYNK to Give is a fundraising tool that helps organizations run a year-round bottle and drive with minimal effort.

What can go in a CLYNK Bag?

Any plastic, aluminum, or glass beverage container--regardless of retailer--on which a deposit was paid during purchase (often denoted with a 5₵ or 15₵ insignia) is eligible to be redeemed with CLYNK. The container must be redeemed in the same state in which the deposit was paid in order to receive redemption value. In other words, CLYNK bags filled with containers purchased in Maine must be redeemed in Maine, and containers purchased in New York must be redeemed in New York in order to receive redemption value.

How do I get more bags? Simply contact the organization supplying this bag, or learn how you can use CLYNK year-round to support local charities at CLYNK.com.

Although you will not receive redemption value, CLYNK will recycle any non-eligible containers that make it into your CLYNK bag so long as they are sturdy plastic, aluminum, or glass beverage containers that resemble those covered by the bottle bill. To see a full list of eligible containers in your state’s bottle bill, please visit http://www.bottlebill.org/

Where do I take the bag once it is filled?

CLYNK bags can be dropped at any Hannaford Supermarket location that has a CLYNK drop center. This includes 46 locations in New York. For a complete list visit: https://www.clynk.com/locations/

How do you drop a CLYNK bag?

Bring your securely tied CLYNK bag(s) to the bottle deposit area (or outside drop box) at your local Hannaford and look for the CLYNK drop door. There will be a hand-held scanner by the drop door or underneath each window on the box. Scan EACH bag tag on your CLYNK bag and simply place the bag through the door. You’re done! Within two business days the funds will be deposited into the organization’s account.

Mission Statement

Here at Morgan Duke Conservation Society we restore and protect the natural wild forest setting that has been impacted by recreational use and large crowds, we seek to reduce the impacts to these wild forest areas by offering our assistance and to educate the public including those seeking to engage in destructive or illegal activities at these wild forest areas they too can do their part in protecting the wild forest settings so the public can enjoy visiting without impairing the wild forest atmosphere. We provide habitat for species that depend on the young forest through Wildlife Habitat Management-- conducting intensive nest box programs for wildlife including Wood Ducks and Bluebirds and ongoing manipulation of the habitats to maintain Habitat Diversity.

Description

Our founder James Sullivan was camping in the Southeastern Adirondacks in early 2005 or 2006 at a place called Hudson River Special Management Area known as Buttermilk and Hudson River Recreation Area in Lake Luzerne, NY. While there, he saw the impacts the wild forest was facing. People were littering and vandalizing, which included painting on rocks. Seeing all of this was upsetting what to James. Eight years later, in 2013, Sullivan contacted the DEC Region 5 during the summer to ask if Morgan Duke Conservation Society could volunteer at the Hudson River Recreation Area. On November 29, 2013, Morgan Duke Conservation Society was founded and become a Corporate Not-For-Profit Organization in New York State.

Today we still work at the Hudson River Recreation Area in Lake Luzerne, New York, and in 2016 we signed a volunteer stewardship agreement for Peekamoose Blue Hole and Vernooy Kill State Forest.
Here at Morgan Duke Conservation Society, we do not get donations or grants from federal, state, or local government agencies; we rely on donations from the general public and businesses.
