COVID-19 is changing the volunteer world. Families are reluctant to have volunteers visit in the home, but they still want the volunteer support. So, we are testing out an idea for the next six months of providing support for patients and families through a Boredom Buster Bag. This bag will be delivered every six weeks by you to the patient. It will be a door dash approach. You drop off the bag and then call the family to let them know the bag is there. We are currently working on a Super Bowl bag that will include Super Bowl Bingo, a stress ball, microwave popcorn, pompoms, a referee whistle, a puzzle, a yellow flag to toss when there is a foul on the field. Much of the work for the bag can be done from home. We will meet in person once a month to fill the bags and distribute them among the volunteers to be delivered. Put your creative juices to work. Crossroads Hospice and Palliative Care is committed to being at the forefront of the hospice care industry, to continually shape the way palliative care is viewed and administered so that everyone can expect more from us.
Expect More From Us. We Do. Why not? That's a question we ask ourselves every day. In fact it is the question responsible for our beginning and has made us what we are today. Because "why not?" helps us find new and better ways to deliver hospice care to patients, families, caregivers, and health care professionals alike. It helps us connect with our communities, share our knowledge, be accessible 24/7, innovate, lead, and raise the bar. In fact "why not?" has helped us create a hospice experience we believe is second to none...and are confident you'll agree.
