SUMMARY:
Goodwill of the Finger Lakes is looking for an Archival Digitization Volunteer to assist the Community Engagement Department by digitizing printed copies of documents and photographs using a scanner. This volunteer job is on an as-needed basis.
VOLUNTEER ASSIGNMENT INCLUDES:
- Digitize printed photographs onsite using camera or scanner
- Must adhere to all COVID safety policies and guidelines
- Adhere to the policies and procedures of Goodwill of the Finger Lakes as illustrated in the Guide for Non-Employees
- Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, and adhere to state and federal regulations regarding confidentiality and privacy
- Be accepting, understanding, and non-judgmental or discriminatory
- Must attend sensitivity to blindness training
- Report volunteer hours on a consistent basis to the Volunteer Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency in basic computer skills
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Displays strong organizational skills
- Good computer skills preferred
- Willing to be flexible and adapt to change
- Ability to understand and embrace cultural diversity is required
- Ability to perform duties with reasonable accommodations
- Read, sign, and adhere to the Volunteer Commitment for COVID Safety
DRESS CODE:
Dress is business casual. Must wear a face mask while on campus.
TRAINING:
Volunteers are required to participate in Sensitivity to Blindness and HIPPA training
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands described here are presentative of those that must be met by the volunteer to successfully perform the assignment. While performing the duties of this job, the volunteer is required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The volunteer must be about to move about the event to take candid shots. The volunteer must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment is an office building with low amount of noise. All COVID safety procedures must be followed when on campus.
