Community Emergency Service Meals On Wheels (MOW) is an important solution to those in need of nutritional and social support, many of whom are homebound. We serve over 360 people daily in the inner city areas of South and North Minneapolis with a smile and a prepared, nutritious, hot noon meal or frozen meals delivered weekly to our most active clients.

We are currently seeking volunteers to help pack meals for our clients to be delivered later that afternoon. This consists of selecting an appropriate frozen meal based on clients preference along with a beverage and dessert.

Requires the ability to stand for 2 hours and be detailed orientated.

Mission Statement

Community Emergency Service transforms lives by serving neighbors, sharing resources and becoming community - a place where people come hungry and leave hopeful.

Description

Community Emergency Service is a multi-service non-profit organization that runs a number of food based assistance programs for Minneapolis residents. Our main programs include: Food Shelf, Meals on Wheels, Home Delivery, Bonus Friday Distribution, and East African Food Distribution.

CES is located within one of the most diverse, densely populated neighborhoods in Minneapolis; over 20,000 people live within its boundaries. 46% of families living in the Phillips neighborhood are below the federal poverty level.

At CES, we strive to serve all our neighbors in need without distinction or test. We invite support from volunteers and donors and are open to collaboration with other agencies, regardless of religious affiliation.

Will you help us move people from hunger to hope?
