Sleeping Bags and Winter Hats for the Homeless

Winter is here and it goes without saying that it is FRIGID outside. While, most of us have roofs over our heads and home cooked meals to keep us warm during the winter season, there are unfortunately those living on the streets during the winter.
I see it everyday when I commute into Washington DC for work: homeless people bundled up in multiple coats and tattered blankets lying still on the ground. Sleeping outside in the cold is very dangerous, with high risk of hypothermia and essentially freezing to death.
Let's help to alleviate this struggle and minimize the risk of hypothermia for those who choose to sleep on the streets during the winter by delivering sleeping bags (meant for 0-30 F weather and for hiking in the mountains) and winter hats to the homeless!

How it works..
This is an on-going event throughout the winter. I will collect donations for sleeping bags and hats through the registration process for this event and hand deliver, with the help of volunteers, the sleeping bags on a regular basis to homeless people sleeping outside during the winter.
We will order high quality sleeping bags and hats meant for 0-30 degree temperatures from the proceeds of ticket sales on this website.
