The American Red Cross of Mid Florida is looking for someone interested in a volunteer leadership position covering 6 counties (Polk, Lake, Sumter, Citrus, Hernando, and Pasco).
Description:
This volunteer leads and develops a volunteer team of recovery casework staff serving those displaced by house fires and other local disasters. There is an average of 3 to 5 new case per week. This position is done from home.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensures that workers are trained, prepared, and assigned to cases
Ensures consistency of assistance through caseworker's or disaster action team responder's completion of day-to-day tasks:
Using the roadmap job tools to assess client needs and resources
Assisting with effective recovery planning
Follow-up casework assistance to support client efforts to achieve their recovery goals.
Planning, organizing, and supervising client interviews and other tasks
Provides timely feedback and support to Recovery Staff
Provides ongoing learning opportunities, team building, mentoring
Completes required casework supervisor reviews, ensures supplemental recommendations are acted upon, case closing tasks completed
Provides leadership, technical guidance and mentoring to caseworkers who talk with those affected by disasters about their disaster recovery plans
Applies policies, regulations, and procedures and knows their location
Qualifications:
Comfortable with technology
Reliable internet access
Ability to use Microsoft Office products and video chat platforms
