The American Red Cross of Mid Florida is looking for someone interested in a volunteer leadership position covering 6 counties (Polk, Lake, Sumter, Citrus, Hernando, and Pasco).

Description:

This volunteer leads and develops a volunteer team of recovery casework staff serving those displaced by house fires and other local disasters. There is an average of 3 to 5 new case per week. This position is done from home.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensures that workers are trained, prepared, and assigned to cases
• Ensures consistency of assistance through caseworker's or disaster action team responder's completion of day-to-day tasks:
  • Using the roadmap job tools to assess client needs and resources
  • Assisting with effective recovery planning
  • Follow-up casework assistance to support client efforts to achieve their recovery goals.
• Planning, organizing, and supervising client interviews and other tasks
• Provides timely feedback and support to Recovery Staff
• Provides ongoing learning opportunities, team building, mentoring
• Completes required casework supervisor reviews, ensures supplemental recommendations are acted upon, case closing tasks completed
• Provides leadership, technical guidance and mentoring to caseworkers who talk with those affected by disasters about their disaster recovery plans
• Applies policies, regulations, and procedures and knows their location

Qualifications:

• Comfortable with technology
• Reliable internet access
• Ability to use Microsoft Office products and video chat platforms
• Available nights and weekends as needed
