We are a community center in the City of Pomona, California dedicated to forming local partnerships and holistic programs that cultivate meaningful relationships and empower people of all backgrounds, particularly at-risk youth and their families, to work together toward personal and community transformation. Our main program to do this is our after school program, where we serve K-12th grade students for free, Monday-Thursday throughout the school year. At this program, kids have a strictly structured schedule, where they receive a meal, homework help/study time, and an enrichment workshop. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made changes to accommodate those families that do not feel comfortable bringing their children in person by creating an Online Enrichment Program. In this program, students receive homework help for approximately one hour and a 35-minute enrichment workshop (Art, STEM, Language Arts, etc.). As a volunteer, you would be helping students with homework, and assisting during the workshop session. The Online program is Monday-Thursday from 4:00 p.m-5:35 p.m via Zoom. Volunteers are encouraged to commit to at least one consistent day per week. Requirements to volunteer are: (1) watch a volunteer training video, take a quiz based on the video and fill out a contact/availability form (2) complete a live scan (fingerprinting) and (3) sign a volunteer promise. This opportunity is open to high school students and adults. Please visit our website (www.pomonahope.org) under the "volunteer" tab for more information or to get started with the training.

* Opportunity open to volunteers in the U.S.A. only (preferably in California). This is due to the time difference in other countries and mandatory background check requirements (FBI/DOJ).
