The Commonpoint Queens Older Adult Services Department seeks dedicated volunteers to teach classes to its clients over Zoom. This opportunity is perfect for any volunteer with expertise in a particular subject area or with experience leading a classroom.

There is no minimum or maximum duration of this opportunity, and volunteers will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities:

Teach Classes to Older Adults Over Zoom

  • Expertise in a particular subject area required
  • Must be comfortable speaking to a large group of people over Zoom
  • Experience teaching classes preferred but not required

Description

For almost 60 years, Commonpoint Queens (formerly The Samuel Field and Central Queens YMWHA) has remained strong and vital and has continued to provide new and innovative programs to the greater Northeast Queens and Western Nassau communities.

As we embark on our sixth decade of providing high quality programs and services to our community, individuals of all ages learn and flourish within a caring and supportive environment at one of our 36 different sites throughout our neighborhoods.

We continue to provide life enhancing and life sustaining services to the over 35,000 people who depend on us to be their community center at each stage of their lives.
