Communities across the country count on the Red Cross every day. The need remains critical and
constant during the summer months. From helping people affected by disasters, like home fires and
floods, to supporting the collection of lifesaving blood, you can make a difference. Ninety percent
of our workforce are volunteers who are inspired to give back. We can’t do it without you.
Facilities Volunteer Needed
*This position is located at our Madison office: 4860 Sheboygan Ave, Madison, WI 53705
Help support our Operations department! The Facilities volunteer performs or coordinates the maintenance, repairs and general upkeep of Madison Red Cross office.
Responsibilities
- Complete maintenance work orders
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings to identify repair or maintenance needs as they arise
- Perform maintenance and repair work, such as painting, electrical, plumbing, carpentry depending on identified skill level and training
- Serve as a local point of contact for maintenance service contractors to ensure their work is completed timely and economically
- Assist with facility emergency drills
- Work with Operations staff to identify opportunities for more efficient management of American Red Cross facility
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with established policies and procedures to assure compliance with standard operating procedures, Safety Quality Identity Potency Purity (SQUIPP), regulations outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations
Time Commitment
- 1 day per week / flexible scheduling, during normal business hours
Qualifications
- Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds
- Maintain a valid WI driver's license/ID
- Mechanical and organizational skills
