ORGANIZATION: Carroll County RSVP

Non-Emergency Medical Transportation is a transportation program within RSVP of Carroll County that provides rides to medical doctor’s appointments for ambulatory seniors, adults with disabilities, and veterans. The program allows for travel beyond county lines, which is frequently necessary for accessing specialized services. It also allows clients to stay secure, comfortable, independent, and living in their homes for as long as possible.

Volunteer drivers receive DMV and criminal background checks prior to transporting clients. They use their own cars to transport the clients to their appointments and can wait for the duration of the procedure before taking them home. The service is offered throughout Carroll County. Rides can be scheduled on weekdays from 9:00am-4pm with the RSVP Transportation Coordinator, and at least a 24-hour notice is requested, but rides cannot be guaranteed as they depend on the availability of the volunteer drivers.
