The North Carolina Community Action Association (NCCAA) is a trusted resource and proven advocate for the statewide network of 34 Community Action Agencies serving all 100 NC counties. We are here to give voice to the needs, concerns, and stories of NC's disadvantaged and low-income citizens, as well as, shed light on the collective impact of community action agencies. For more than 50 years, NC community action agencies have helped thousands of families overcome poverty and achieve economic self-sufficiency. As repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic persist across communities, the work of NCCAA and community action agencies are more important than ever.

Join the NCCAA's signature event, The Big Pop Up, to benefit some of the 1.4 million North Carolinians living in poverty. On Tuesday, January 26, The Big Pop Up will kick off the first of four large-scale community drive-through events which will provide needed supplies to residents. During this event, an assortment of products and goods will be provided to families in need, including but not limited to, food boxes, fresh produce, personal protection equipment, household supplies, prepared meals, baby supplies, and resource information. This event will occur outdoors utilizing the parking lot of the PNC Arena. Mandatory safety measures will be in place including the use of personal protective equipment, social distancing, handwashing/sanitizing, temperature checks, etc. for all volunteers and staff.

Participating families will remain safely in their vehicles and drive through various tent stations, where volunteers will deliver supplies to their open trunks. This event is a major undertaking, requiring our collective
presence now more than ever. Needs are great, however, by partnering with individuals and organizations such as yours, we can meet our expectation of serving at least 1,000 families at The Big Pop Up inaugural event in Raleigh.

After signing up for a volunteer assignment, your volunteer leader will be in touch with additional information. Thank you in advance - we look forward to serving with you.

Please note, volunteers singing up for Produce Preparation on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday will be located at the Food Bank of central & Eastern North Carolina on Capital Blvd in Raleigh, NC.
