The Sewing Labs is partnering with Volunteer KC (volunteerkc.com) to sew canvas bags that will be distributed to homeless or near-homeless individuals. To learn more about the positive impact these bags will have on our community visit https://www.volunteerkc.com/kc-community-bag.
We need volunteers to sew these canvas bags from home.
We supply the kits needed to sew. You provide the sewing machine and time to sew.
We need volunteers willing to help us compile kits as well.
We also have other ongoing community outreach projects for our at-home sewists. Ask us about them!

The Sewing Labs is an inclusive and welcoming community teaching the legacy of sewing for employment, entrepreneurship, and enrichment.
Description
The Sewing Labs is a community learning center that teaches the lost art of sewing towards job creation. We are partnered with employers all over Kansas City that are seeking trained sewists. We also are launching a Sewing Salon to encourage entrepreneurs who use sewing as a means to thrive.
