UTC Board Officer: Treasurer Description
- Serve as the financial officer and one of the primary contacts for the accountant and auditor.
- Work with the accounting firm on producing key documents every month and year, including the annual budget, monthly board financial reports.
- Initiate the annual audit, ensure the audit in on track to be completed, and present findings to the board for approval
- Continuously improve the organizations financial situation and reporting.
- Establish and maintain dashboard or set of key performance indicators that tells the Board at a glance how the organization is doing on critical measures (after facilitating a discussion with the Board on what those critical measures are) and regularly report on dashboard
- Ensure prudent asset management in accordance with financial objectives and Board-approved policy
- Facilitate strategic thinking within the Board about short and long-term financial vitality; including coordination with the development committee
- Support the financial literacy development of Executive Director and Board of Directors
- Meet board meeting attendance requirements

Description
The Urban Tree Connection (UTC) is a 501(c)(3) community-based organization, and our mission is to build a neighborhood rooted food and land system through community leadership development and land based strategies in West Philadelphia.
Over the last two decades, we have partnered with residents of West Philadelphia's Haddington neighborhood to develop and sustain community-driven greening and gardening projects. Our network of garden and farm sites are spaces for communal growing, gathering and education that fosters deep community engagement and leadership development of residents all ages, to build healthy sustainable community.
