Help ensure that the seniors in your community have enough food to survive.
Meals on Wheels Foundation of Northern Illinois in Proviso Township URGENTLY needs friendly volunteers to deliver nutritious meals to seniors in Melrose Park, Bellwood, Berkeley, Broadview, Forest Park, Maywood, Hillside and Westchester.
Meals are picked up at our Melrose Park location at 1609 36th Avenue anytime after 9:00 a.m. up to 10:00 a.m. and delivered Monday thru Friday. Volunteers can help 1 or more days per week, depending on their availability. A delivery route usually takes between 1 1/2 and 2 hours to complete and volunteers receive mileage reimbursement for all miles driven on the route (not including to/from your home and the pick-up location).
All drivers must be 18 years or older.

Our vision is to live in an environment where seniors and persons with disabilities are valued and are an active part of our community. We currently serve nearly 600,000 meals a year to over 7,500 seniors and persons with disabilities in Suburban Cook, Kendall & Grundy Counties.

Join us for lunch!
Fight against hunger by giving back to the older adults in your community! The Community Nutrition Network needs your help serving meals at our café sites as well as delivering meals to homebound adults. These opportunities can last anywhere from 1-3 hours and are located at various sites throughout the northern Illinois area.
At The Community Nutrition Network, we strive to keep older adults and persons with disabilities an active part of their community by providing them with the support they need. Much more than a meal, our programs combat depression and isolation, offers companionship, and provides safety checks for homebound adults.
